Location of Pestana Grand Hotel Madeira

The Pestana Grand is located on an impressive headland, the 'Ponta da Cruz' in the western area of town, providing breathtaking views over the Atlantic Ocean and the steep, 580 m high cliff of 'Cabo Girão' - only a short distance from the historic city centre of Funchal.

The airport (Aeroporto Internacional da Madeira) is 35 minutes drive from the Pestana Grand Hotel. Low cost airport transfers are provided, from the airport to the hotel in luxurious mini buses or chauffer driven cars.

Adjoining the hotel is a pedestrian promenade that runs along the spectacular coast from the Lido area to the village of Câmara de Lobos. The promenade is edged by luscious botanical gardens and has a myriad of viewing points and seats where you can enjoy the stunning scenery.

Within 200 meters of the hotel, there are natural seawater rock pools where you can swim and also access the largest beach in Madeira, know as ‘Praia Formosa’. Along the coast, there are a few local seafood restaurants at very reasonable prices. West from Praia Formosa there is a string of secluded little coves.

Just five minutes by foot from the hotel resort, the new 'Madeira Forum Shopping Centre' provides a large variety of restaurants and cafés, international shops and cinemas (the latest films are shown with the original language and Portuguese sub-titles). International chains in Portugal are approximately 30% cheaper than in Europe.
